Australia maintain perfect record in Day-Night Test at Adelaide Oval

Australia beat New Zealand in the first-ever Day-Night Test played in November 2015. Australia beat their neighbours by 3 wickets. Josh Hazlewood won the Player of the Match award for his 9 wickets in the match. 

Australia next took on South Africa in the Day-Night Test at Adelaide Oval in November 2016. Usman Khawaja’s century in Australia’s first innings set up a 7-wicket win for the hosts. 

In December 2017, Adelaide Oval hosted the Day-Night Ashes Test between Australia and England. Hundred by Shaun Marsh and a five-for by Mitchell Starc helped Australia notch a huge win by 120 runs. 

Australia locked horns with Pakistan in a Day-Night Test at Adelaide Oval in December 2019. David Warner’s mammoth 335 not-out along with Mitchell Starc’s 6 wicket haul set a win by an innings and 48 runs for Australia. 

India played their first Day-Night Test in Australia at Adelaide Oval in December 2020. The match is remembered for India getting bowled out on 36, their lowest Test score, in their second innings. Captain Tim Paine’s 73 and Josh Hazlewood’s 6 wickets helped Australia beat India by 8 wickets. 

Marnus Labuschagne’s hundred in Australia’s first innings followed by a half-century in the second outing helped Australia beat England by 275 runs the next time the Ashes rival met at the Adelaide Oval in a Day-Night Test.  

Travis Head’s thunderous 175 coupled with efforts of fast bowlers helped Australia beat the West Indies by a huge margin of 419 runs in the Day-Night Test at Adelaide Oval in December 2022. 

Travis Head’s superb century with five-wicket hauls from Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins helped Australia crush India by 10 wickets in the Day-Night Test at the Adelaide Oval in December 2024.
