R Ashwin retires from international cricket — Off-spinner’s career in numbers

Ashwin played 106 Tests and picked 537 wickets to become India’s second-highest wicket-taker in the format behind Anil Kumble. The off-spinner has claimed the join-highest five-wicket hauls in Tests along with Shane Warne. Both spinners have picked 37 5 wicket hauls each.

Ashwin also has the join-highest Player of the Series awards in Tests. The Indian spinner is tied with Muttiah Muralitharan with 11 Player of the Series awards.

Ashwin played 116 ODIs and claimed 156 wickets.

Ashwin featured in 65 T20Is for India and claimed 72 wickets in the format.
