Velivela said India is likely to become an important market in another three to five years for the company as its trucking industry digitises further.
“We have more than doubled last year, and plan to double or triple again,” Velivela said, without revealing revenue numbers.
AtoB’s products include a fuel card used by commercial trucking operators, a payroll product to pay drivers, and B2B invoice payment options.
Fintechs have a large opportunity with Artificial Intelligence, Velivela said, pointing to areas like real-time transaction processing and financial risk modelling that the company leverages AI/ML for. “The next generation will live in a world of abundant intelligence,” he said, adding that the scale of impact of the AI revolution will be comparable to the discovery of fire—much bigger than the advent of the internet or personal computing.
This is likely to lead to some level of displacement as well, he noted.
On the raging debate on H-1B visa in the US, Velivela, who works in the US on an O-1 visa granted to those with “extraordinary abilities”, said, “There is definitely some level of timeliness to this discussion because of the change in government, but I do think the ecosystem for outsiders is very healthy in the US.” He noted that skilled immigration is a small share of immigration into the US, and that there can be a balance of bringing in a healthy number of immigrants without disrupting the social fabric.
Velivela said per-country limits on certain visas—such as for the EB-5 visa programme—are “not relevant in this day and age, because talent is truly global.
