How often are petrol and diesel prices updated?
Oil marketing companies revise retail petrol and diesel rates daily, usually from the morning cycle. Each price in our tables shows the date of its latest available record, so check that date before planning your budget.
Why do fuel prices differ between cities and states?
The final retail price depends on state VAT, local levies, freight and dealer commission. That is why the same fuel can cost different amounts in two cities, even in the same state.
What does a dash (—) mean in a price table?
A dash means there is no available record for that fuel type in that row. It does not mean the fuel is free or unavailable in that location.
Can I compare petrol, diesel and CNG together?
Yes. The all-state fuel table shows petrol, diesel and CNG side by side, and each city or state page lists the full history for that location.
