Airbus overcomes slow start, delivers 766 jets in 2024

Airbus SE delivered 766 aircraft in 2024, just below its 770 target. The A321neo model constituted 60% of these deliveries. Airbus also secured 826 net orders, bringing its backlog to 8,658 planes. The company considers 2024 a good year despite a challenging environment, according to Christian Scherer, the CEO of Airbus's commercial aircraft unit.
Airbus SE came within striking distance of its aircraft delivery target for 2024 by handing over 766 aircraft, the highest rate in six years as customers continue to refresh their fleets with more fuel-efficient aircraft like the A321neo model.

Airbus's A321neo jetliner accounted for 60% of its narrowbody deliveries, cementing the model's lead as the world's bestselling aircraft.
Airbus also recorded 826 net orders last year, taking its backlog to 8,658 planes.
"Given the complex and fast-changing environment we continue to operate in, we consider 2024 a good year," Christian Scherer, the chief executive officer of Airbus's commercial aircraft unit, said in the statement.
The Cabinet has approved a Rs 7,145.14 crore, 117.7-km access-controlled greenfield highway between Kanpur and Kabrai on NH-34 in Uttar Pradesh. The BOT toll project is designed to cut travel time from 3.5 hours to 1.5 hours, strengthen links to the Kabrai mining belt and Bundelkhand corridor, and lower logistics friction for freight, construction material and agricultural movement.

The move matters because it changes refining economics, export incentives and the downstream pressure points that can eventually shape domestic fuel availability, airline costs and broader transport pricing.
State-run oil companies cut the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder price by Rs 183.50 from July 1, 2026 and reduced aviation turbine fuel by Rs 5 per litre to about Rs 110 in Delhi. The move offers relief to restaurants, hotels and airlines, but household LPG, petrol and diesel users are still waiting.
