BMW Motorrad has launched the F 450 GS Sport in India at ₹5.90 lakh ex-showroom on 6 Nov 2026. The new trim adds sport suspension, Riding Modes Pro and off-road equipment, giving riders a more focused version of the 420cc adventure motorcycle without moving to the top-spec GS Trophy.
Key takeaways
- The BMW F 450 GS Sport costs ₹5.90 lakh ex-showroom in India, as listed on BMW Motorrad India's model page.
- It gets Sport Suspension, Gear Shift Assistant Pro and Riding Modes Pro as standard equipment.
- The Sport sits ₹35,000 above the Exclusive variant and ₹25,000 below the GS Trophy.
- The 420cc parallel-twin engine produces 48 bhp and 43 Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox.
- The quoted price excludes road tax, RTO fees, insurance and other local charges, so the on-road amount will vary by city.
BMW F 450 GS Sport price in India
BMW Motorrad India's current F 450 GS page lists four variants: Base at ₹5.35 lakh, Exclusive at ₹5.55 lakh, Sport at ₹5.90 lakh and GS Trophy at ₹6.15 lakh. These are ex-showroom prices inclusive of applicable GST and compensation cess, with the price prevailing at the time of invoicing. The Sport is therefore positioned in the middle of the range rather than as a direct replacement for the Trophy.
The ₹5.90 lakh figure does not include road tax, tax collected at source, RTO statutory fees, other local levies or insurance. Those additions can change the final invoice across states and cities. Buyers comparing the purchase price with ownership cost can also check current petrol rates through the live fuel prices tool.
What the Sport variant adds
The new variant is finished in BMW's Racing Red colour and gets a clear Rallye windscreen, black hand protectors, off-road footrests and a plastic engine guard. These parts make the trim more suited to riders who expect a mix of paved roads, broken surfaces and occasional trail use, although the equipment list does not turn it into a dedicated off-road motorcycle.
Its main functional upgrade is the Sport Suspension. Gear Shift Assistant Pro enables clutchless gear changes under suitable riding conditions, while Riding Modes Pro adds an Enduro Pro setting alongside the standard Rain, Road and Enduro modes. The Sport does not get the GS Trophy's Easy Ride Clutch, so the rider still operates the clutch for starts and low-speed manoeuvres.
Engine, safety and touring equipment
The Sport uses the same 420cc liquid-cooled, two-cylinder engine as the rest of the F 450 GS range. It makes 48 bhp at 8,750 rpm and maximum torque of 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm, with power sent through a six-speed gearbox. BikeWale reports an unladen weight of 178 kg and a seat height of 845 mm for the model.
Rider aids include ABS Pro, Dynamic Traction Control, Dynamic Brake Control and Engine Drag Control. The motorcycle also carries a 6.5-inch TFT display with a multi-controller, smartphone connectivity, X-shaped LED lighting and heated grips. These features matter more to a rider planning long highway or mixed-surface trips than to someone choosing only on the basis of the red paint or the variant name.
Sport versus Exclusive and GS Trophy
The price gap gives the Sport a clear place in the line-up. Compared with the Exclusive, the ₹35,000 premium pays for the Sport Suspension, Riding Modes Pro and the variant-specific equipment. Compared with the GS Trophy, the Sport is ₹25,000 cheaper but gives up the Easy Ride Clutch, aluminium engine guard and tinted Rallye windscreen.
That makes the comparison less about a simple “higher is better” ladder and more about the kind of riding expected. A rider who wants the electronic and suspension upgrades but prefers a conventional clutch has a new middle option. A rider who values the Easy Ride Clutch and the Trophy's additional protection hardware has a different equipment priority to assess.
Fuel and time are also part of the cost of an adventure-bike purchase. The fuel cost calculator can help estimate a planned ride using distance, efficiency and petrol price, while the road-trip planner can be used to compare route distance, time and tolls before a longer trip.
What changes now
With the Sport added, BMW Motorrad India's F 450 GS range now covers Base, Exclusive, Sport and GS Trophy trims. The official model page says prices and options can change without prior notice, so the current ex-showroom figure should be treated as the listed price for 6 Nov 2026 rather than a guaranteed final on-road cost.
The practical checklist is to confirm the exact variant equipment, the dealer's invoicing price and the registration and insurance components in the buyer's state. The most important distinction is whether the rider wants the Sport's suspension and mode package or the GS Trophy's Easy Ride Clutch and extra protection equipment.
