State-run Indian Oil Corporation and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) on Friday advised fuel consumers against panic buying after many petrol pumps in border districts saw long vehicle queues, assuring them of sufficient supply across the country.

There is no need for panic buying-fuel and LPG are readily available at all our outlets," India's largest fossil fuel retailer said in a post on social media.
The company's statement followed reports of consumers rushing to stock up on fuel, food and other essentials in border areas, especially in Punjab and Jammu.
Several areas along the Pakistan border experienced blackouts and drone incursions on Thursday night, triggering panic among residents.
Images of long queues at petrol pumps circulated widely on social media on Friday.
"Help us serve you better by staying calm and avoiding unnecessary rush.
This will keep our supply lines running seamlessly and ensure uninterrupted fuel access for all," Indian Oil said.
BPCL also assured citizens that sufficient supplies of petrol, diesel, CNG and LPG were available.
"There is no cause for concern or panic buying.
Our supply chain operations remain robust and efficient, ensuring uninterrupted supplies," the company said.
