The Indian automobile industry has seen multiple new vehicles in the past year and 2025 will be no different. With many brands focusing on electrification of their existing cars, 2025 will see multiple new EVs in various segments. Apart from EVs, brands have been fighting to get a share of the pie of various segments. Listed below are some of the most anticipated launches for this year.

1) Hyundai Creta EV

Hyundai’s best selling mid-size SUV will now be available in an electric avatar. The Creta EV looks similar to the ICE Creta, but gets some minor changes to set it apart. With up to 473km driving range, Creta Electric will appeal to a larger audience. It will be showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 and will be launched soon after. Prices are expected to range between Rs 20-25 lakh (ex-showroom).

2) Kia Syros

Kia Syros is the second offering by the brand in the compact SUV segment along with the Kia Sonet which will give buyers a wide variety of options to choose from. Syros has a very striking and unique design and comes loaded with a ton of features. Starting from a panoramic sunroof, streamline door handles, ventilated seats, electric parking brake, connected car tech, 360 degree camera, dashcam, 6 airbags, 17-inch alloys and much more. It will be offered with 2 engine options – a 1.0 TGDi petrol and a 1.5 CRDi diesel. Both the engines come with manual and automatic transmission options. Expected price for the Syros SUV is between Rs 10-16 lakh and will be launched by the first quarter of 2025.

3) Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Maruti Suzuki is India’s leading automobile company with products in all the segments under the Rs 20 lakh bracket. e Vitara will be Maruti’s first offering in the electric segment and it is one of the most important launches for Maruti Suzuki in 2025. Although very few details are available about the car, it will come with two battery pack options and an AWD powertrain. The expected price will be near about Rs 15-18 lakh. e Vitara will be unveiled and displayed at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.

4) Toyota Urban Cruiser EV

Toyota Urban Cruiser EV is Toyota’s version of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara. The Urban Cruiser EV will make its public debut at the 2025 Brussels Motor Show. It will have similar specifications as the E-Vitara and will be sold alongside it.

5) Tata Harrier.ev

The Tata Harrier.ev concept was displayed at the Auto Expo 2023 and has been in the works for a long time now. It is expected that the production spec Harrier.ev will be showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. It looks very similar to the concept model and its ICE counterpart. As of now very few details are available on the battery size and list of features, but more details are expected soon. Prices for the Harrier.ev are expected to start from Rs 20-22 lakh (ex-showroom).

6) Tata Sierra.ev

The Tata Sierra.ev was first showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo as a concept model. The production and testing of the car have been under the work and Tata may showcase the production spec Sierra.ev at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.It is expected to be launched later this year and more details are likely to be released soon. Prices are expected to start at Rs 16 lakh ex-showroom.

7) 2025 Skoda Octavia

Skoda plans to re-launch the Octavia in India. A perfect blend of comfort and performance, Octavia has always been an enthusiasts pick in the Sedan D-Segment. It will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2025 and Skoda plans to launch it soon this year. More details on the engine, features and most importantly the pricing will be released soon.

8) Skoda Octavia RS

Skoda has confirmed to bring the Octavia RS to the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 as a CBU unit. At the moment however, it is not clear whether the new Octavia RS will be launched in the Indian market at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, or be merely displayed. The Octavia RS is more aggressive when it comes to the design, clearly highlighting its performance-oriented intent. Under the hood powering the Octavia RS is a 2-litre TSI petrol engine producing 268bhp and 370Nm, and is mated to a DSG gearbox.

9) 2025 Skoda Superb

Skoda has confirmed that the new Superb will be making its way to India in 2025. The assembly is expected to start from March 2025 and it will go on sale by May 2025. The new Octavia follows Skoda’s ‘Modern Solid’ design and has grown in its dimensions. You get an octagonal grille and matrix LED headlamps. The interior features a cleaner design for the dashboard, with a free-standing 13-inch infotainment display with ChatGPT integration, and the gear selector has moved to the steering column. A HUD is optional for the first time on the Superb. Superb also gets Dynamic Chassis Control. Globally you get a total of six powertrain choices with the Superb, but what we will likely get in India is the 2-litre TSI engine.

10) Skoda Kodiaq

The new gen Skoda Kodiaq will be making its way to India by May 2025. The car will be on display at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Testing for the car has already begun at Skoda’s manufacturing plant in Aurangabad. The design of the new gen Kodiaq is in-line with Skoda’s ‘Modern Solid’ design language. The India-spec Kodiaq will be offered with the 2-litre TSI engine that produces 201bhp of power.

11) Volkswagen Golf GTi

The Volkswagen Golf GTi is finally coming to India after years of being under consideration. The hot-hatch will likely go on sale by August 2025 and will be brought in via the CBU route. The Golf GTi gets an aggressive and sporty design both inside and out. Powering the hot-hatch will be a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 265bhp power. Prices are expected to start from Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom).

12) BYD Sealion 7

BYD, the Chinese EV car manufacturer will be launching another product in the electric car market. The Sealion 7 SUV will make its debut on 17 January 2025 at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 and is expected to be launched by March 2025. The EV SUV is already on sale in China and some European countries. The Sealion 7 is a performance SUV that will be placed above the BYD Seal sedan. More details on the battery and features are awaited. Prices are expected to start from Rs 46 lakh (ex-showroom).
